Koi, the most majestic of the pond fish

With hand-picked high-grade Japanese Koi colour and markings - combined with the correct body shape - form the basis for the selection, naming and pricing of Koi.

Against that background it can all seem a bit bewildering - especially for newcomers to the hobby.

To help make things easier for you, below are a selection of photographs of Koi in stock at our branches along with the prices and names. We have translated the names to give you an introduction to Koi names from their native Japanese.

Beauty is strictly in the eye of the beholder and it must be remembered that with smaller fish the colours can change over time.

Koi from other countries such as Singapore may be much cheaper and are probably a better choice for beginners. They will still give many years of pleasure as you become more skilled and comfortable around your 'new' hobby.
